Respiratory Unit - Respiratory Therapist

Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - Louisiana Childrens Medical Center Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - Louisiana Childrens Medical Center Health System.

Additional Details:

You must be willing to float, work weekends, and generally just be very flexible. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Level 3 Nursery experience. Must be able to attend C-Sections. Required experience with Puritan Bennett 840 / 980, Servo I, V60’s, Visions & Trilogy.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Unit Details: Neonate, infant, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. Transports within hospital required.

Shift & Scheduling: Facility prefers 48 hours per week, but is open to a 36/48 rotating schedule. Every other weekend. No call. 2 Fridays in a 4 week schedule. RTO no more than 5 consecutive days. Must work weekend before Mardi Gras. Will work summer holidays. Winter holidays must work 2 of the 3 holidays.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Maximum consecutive days off: 5

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
