Job Title: Phlebotomist Group Lead - Tucker, GA Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends Pay range: $25.84+ per hour Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Responsibilities Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams. Administer oral solutions according to established training. Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services. Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration, test order entry from requisition or database, and management of Standing Orders. Enter billing information and collect payments when required, including safeguarding of assets and credit card information. Data entry and processing of specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test order. Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones when needed. Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures and ensure that all staff follow instructions. Verify patient demographic info/initials post-venipuncture to confirm tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence. Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data. Maintain phlebotomy logs and related records on schedule (e.g., maintenance, temperature logs). Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with phlebotomy techniques. Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off-site or off normal shift. Participate on special projects and teams and assist with distribution of technical information to the work group. Perform Point of Care (POC) testing where needed and complete training/competency evaluations per SOP. Act as a coach/mentor/instructor for new employees and provide onboarding services to new clients. Coordinate with supervisors to set up new offices for PSCs and IOPs and support daily activity in the region. Lead one or more PSR on site as needed and provide input on performance evaluations. Support patient inquiries and the problem resolution line as needed. Qualifications Required Work Experience Seven years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Keyboard/data entry experience. Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable. Preferred Work Experience Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Minimum 5 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Physical And Mental Requirements Lift light to moderately heavy objects; weight range varies with task. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks; extensive use of phone and PC. Travel required; fine dexterity and manual coordination required. Other tasks include bending/kneeling, reaching/twisting, pushing/pulling as needed. Skills Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric. Strong customer focus; good communication and teamwork across functions. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting. Ability to make decisions based on established procedures with good judgment.
