Scientist I - Process Development-Upstream or Downstream

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Process Development Scientist to support upstream or downstream bioprocessing for gene therapy manufacturing. The role involves planning and executing laboratory activities, tech transfer operations, and documentation for process establishment through cGMP manufacturing at the Plainville, Massachusetts facility.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document laboratory and technology transfer activities for process development and pilot operations
• Act as subject matter expert supporting transfer of internally developed and client processes into manufacturing
• Collaborate with Analytical Development team to develop testing plans and interpret results
• Prepare process development records, work instructions, batch records, and reports adhering to GDP standards
• Present results and process data to clients in meetings and written communications

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field
• 0-2 years of related process development or manufacturing experience
• Demonstrated ability to design and independently conduct laboratory experiments
• Proficiency in technical writing and Good Documentation Practices
• Strong written and oral communication skills for presenting scientific data
• Understanding of cGMP and biopharmaceutical regulatory requirements
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and evenings as needed

Compensation: $28.16–$42.00 hourly
