Vice President

Summary The Vice President provides critical oversight of the organization’s program and administrative functions to ensure they are compliant with mandates, meeting goals, and providing superior service to AIOIC’s stakeholders. This is a senior leadership position, requiring strong strategic planning, project management, people management, and operational skills. The Vice President is American Indian OIC’s second-in-command and must be a trusted and proven leader. Duties & Responsibilities Implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives Manage a team of program directors whose departments execute education, financial wellness, workforce development and job training activities to ensure programs meet goals and are compliant with contract requirements. Provide guidance and material assistance when challenges are encountered. Develop and oversee program budgets to ensure they comply with contract requirements and meet program revenue needs. Work with team members to prepare and respond to monitoring visits and audits and support the preparation and submission of reports. Troubleshoot challenges and respond appropriately and with discretion to grievances. Optimize program deliverables through the implementation of continuous improvement activities and ongoing targeted monitoring of outcome data and execution of responsive action. Monitor program performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement and provide regular reports to executive leaders. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, contractors, and vendors. Negotiate contracts and agreements with external parties. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in program services areas. Draft reports, briefs, job descriptions, and other written communications. Work with external consultants to ensure the organization’s Human Resources policies and practices are compliant with current statutes and best practices. Develop and implement an annual employee engagement and professional development plan. Host regular new employee orientation days. Serve as a key administrator of AIOIC’s ADP HR database. Manage facilities, reception, and IT staff, and collaborate with contracted HR and finance, consultants to ensure optimal operational functionality of the agency. Act as a key agency leader and represent AIOIC to external stakeholders, team members, and participants. Qualifications Required Cultural competency working in a diverse environment. Bachelor's degree and eight years’ previous experience managing teams and publicly funded contracts. Results-oriented and goal driven. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite/365 and comfort using web-based portals and applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills Understanding of confidentiality protocols and ability to follow those protocols Reliable, trustworthy, and adaptable Preferred Understanding of Minnesota’s Indigenous communities, cultures, and practices. Ten years’ previous experience in a leadership role in human services and administration Master’s degree or higher Physical Demands & Work Environment American Indian OIC is a culturally rich environment and follows a business casual dress code. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. Compensation & Status The Vice President is a full-time, exempt position with compensation starting at $100,000 annually. Business hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm, however occasional weekend and evening hours may be required as needed. This position qualifies for medical, dental, retirement, and time-off benefits, with accrual of up to five paid vacation weeks in the first year of employment, plus at least twelve paid holidays. Free onsite parking is available. With approval from their supervisor, this position may be afforded limited remote work privileges.
