Patent Litigation ParalegalA growing litigation practice is seeking an experienced Patent Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling complex intellectual property and commercial litigation matters. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented paralegal who has worked closely with litigation teams through discovery, motion practice, hearings, depositions, and trial preparation.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting patent litigation matters in federal court and before administrative or agency forums, including work involving USPTO-related filings, patent materials, technical documents, litigation databases, and trial preparation. Prior experience attending trial or providing direct support to attorneys during trial, arbitration, mediation, or evidentiary hearings is strongly preferred.This is a hybrid position offering two remote workdays and three in-office days per week.Position SummaryThe Patent Litigation Paralegal will play a key role in managing case materials, coordinating litigation workflows, maintaining document collections, supporting discovery, assisting with filings, and preparing attorneys for hearings, depositions, and trial. This person will serve as a central support resource for case teams and will be expected to manage details proactively, communicate clearly, and help keep complex matters organized and moving forward.The role requires strong knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, excellent judgment, advanced organizational skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced legal environment where accuracy, responsiveness, and client service are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesPatent Litigation and Case SupportSupport attorneys through all stages of patent litigation and complex commercial litigation matters.Organize, manage, and maintain electronic and physical case files, document collections, evidence materials, pleadings, discovery records, correspondence, exhibits, and litigation databases.Assist with filings in federal, state, and local courts, as well as agency or administrative forums, including matters involving the USPTO.Coordinate with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, vendors, docketing teams, legal assistants, and internal litigation support professionals.Track case deadlines, filing requirements, court dates, deliverables, and key matter milestones.Assist with preparation for hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, settlement discussions, and trials.Maintain patent-related materials, reference documents, case resources, and technical records.Coordinate with docketing and administrative personnel to ensure litigation and IP-related calendars are accurate and current.Oversee creation, indexing, and ongoing maintenance of complex litigation files and document repositories.Litigation Case ManagementServe as a primary coordination point for litigation teams, helping ensure that attorneys and support staff have accurate, current, and organized case information.Prepare, review, proofread, and cite-check pleadings, memoranda, briefs, exhibits, declarations, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents.Review legal documents for accuracy, formatting, grammar, typographical errors, citation compliance, and consistency with court rules or jurisdiction-specific requirements.Verify citations to legal authorities and evidence, including Bluebook review and court-specific citation formats.Assist with paper and electronic court filings, including coordination with filing vendors or court systems when needed.Maintain matter calendars and coordinate with attorneys, legal assistants, and docketing personnel to ensure deadlines are properly captured and tracked.Research, Discovery, and Document ManagementPerform factual and legal research using legal databases, public records, court records, agency materials, online sources, and client-provided information.Retrieve, organize, review, and analyze documents from clients, opposing parties, third parties, courts, agencies, and other sources.Prepare summaries, memoranda, chronologies, witness files, issue files, expert materials, deposition materials, and other litigation work product.Draft initial discovery requests, discovery responses, subpoenas, pleadings, memoranda, and related litigation documents.Assist with document collection efforts, including tracking collection status, coordinating with custodians, and working with litigation support teams to ensure proper handling of electronic materials.Participate in witness and custodian interviews as needed.Coordinate with internal litigation support teams and outside vendors regarding document processing, review, production, database management, and quality control.Help manage document review workflows, including responsiveness review, relevance review, privilege review, privilege logs, and production tracking.Conduct database searches to locate, retrieve, and analyze documents, evidence, transcripts, and exhibits.Prepare deposition exhibits, maintain exhibit tracking systems, manage deposition transcripts, search transcript databases, and summarize testimony.Document and memorialize collection, review, and production processes when required.Trial, Hearing, Deposition, and Proceeding SupportAssist attorneys with trial, arbitration, mediation, hearing, and deposition preparation.Prepare and maintain exhibit lists, witness lists, deposition designations, trial notebooks, hearing binders, demonstratives, and trial briefs.Coordinate logistics with court personnel, vendors, opposing counsel, witnesses, experts, and internal case teams.Support trial technology preparation, including coordination with trial support vendors, courtroom personnel, and internal litigation technology resources.Assist with courtroom presentation tools and trial support platforms as needed.Provide on-site support during trials, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, or depositions when required.Track exhibits, coordinate witnesses, manage courtroom materials, summarize proceedings, and support attorneys in real time during trial or other proceedings.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of paralegal experience, preferably with a focus on patent litigation, intellectual property litigation, or complex commercial litigation.Experience supporting litigation matters in federal court required; experience with USPTO-related matters or patent litigation procedures strongly preferred.Bachelor's degree and completion of a paralegal program preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.Prior hands-on trial experience is highly preferred, including attending trial, assisting attorneys during trial, managing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, or supporting courtroom logistics.Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, court filings, motion practice, deposition preparation, trial preparation, and case management.Experience working with courts, agencies, filing systems, docketing teams, and litigation calendars.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and document formatting tools.Experience with legal research and litigation platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, Relativity, IPRO, or similar document review and case management systems.Familiarity with trial presentation or courtroom technology tools such as TrialDirector, OnCue, or similar platforms is strongly preferred.Experience supporting litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions or multiple offices is a plus.Strong proofreading, cite-checking, writing, editing, and organizational skills.Ability to manage competing deadlines, shifting priorities, and high-volume case activity.Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, staff, vendors, court personnel, and opposing counsel.High level of accuracy, discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail.Ability to work overtime and travel occasionally as case needs require.Ideal Candidate ProfileThe strongest candidate will be a patent
