Office Manager

Onsite role in Amarillo, TX. Applicants must be already resident or willing to relocate. About the Firm Full‑service CPA firm serving individuals, businesses, and families in the Texas Panhandle since 1957. Provides tax planning, audits, financial statement prep, business consulting, and related advisory services. Approx. 15 employees with long‑tenured, multi‑generational client relationships. Role Overview The Office Manager will handle monthly/annual firm financial statements, HR and payroll, supervise administrative staff, coordinate with outsourced IT, manage vendor and facilities oversight, and perform other operational tasks to keep the office running efficiently. Responsibilities Prepare monthly and annual firm financial statements and related schedules. Manage firm‑level accounting including accounts payable, cash management, and upcoming bill schedules. Oversee all HR and payroll functions: processing, reporting, 401(k) reporting, benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding. Maintain personnel files, employee handbook, evaluation schedules; post job openings and coordinate applicant communication. Supervise administrative staff, schedule workloads, conduct performance evaluations with managing partner. Prepare annual firm tax returns for review and manage other firm filings such as personal property renditions and employment‑related regulatory filings. Act as liaison with outsourced IT providers and technology vendors; coordinate support and keep partners informed of hardware replacements. Coordinate with building management on office needs, repairs, parking, insurance applications, and other firm‑level administrative requirements. Qualifications Strong understanding of basic accounting and financial statement preparation. Experience with payroll, benefits administration and HR processes in a small to mid‑sized office. Ability to supervise, develop and schedule administrative staff. Comfort with outsourced IT and technology vendors and communicating technology needs. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with QuickBooks or similar preferred. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) retirement plan. Eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
