Respiratory Care Practitioner II is a journey-level position that requires experience providing respiratory care treatment to patients in an acute care hospital and ambulatory health centers. Employees in this class administer therapy and life support to patients while assisting in making patient assessments for the purpose of establishing individual respiratory care plans. They also clean, assemble, and transport respiratory equipment as requested. Respiratory Care Practitioner II may also operate diagnostic and therapeutic equipment as well as electrocardiograph machines on a relief basis and/or provide work direction to other staff.

We are looking for someone who:
Certification: Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate issued by the American Heart Association, or CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross; and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate.
Applicants are required to attach a copy of their license to their application. Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, or its equivalent, experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (or Respiratory Therapist) in an acute care hospital.
Acute Care: RCPs assigned to the Acute Care setting must also possess and maintain a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Certificate. Ambulatory Care/Health Centers:

Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in acute critical care or emergency respiratory care settings.
- Experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to take initiative and lead projects or teams when needed.
- Experience in mentoring or teaching students or junior staff members.
- Ability to develop and implement new ideas to improve patient care and department efficiency.
