CORRECTIONAL CASE RECORDS ANALYST

Correctional Case Records Analyst Under the general supervision of the Correctional Case Records Supervisor in Main Records, this position performs complex, technical work in the processing, maintenance, and control of incarcerated people or supervised people’s records. The analyst may serve as the lead person to Correctional Case Records Analyst trainees. Key Responsibilities Interpret court commitment orders; analyze incarcerated people’s legal status to determine crime and sentence with applicable enhancements, aggravations, limitations, and good behavior credits. Identify sentencing discrepancies and request clarification and/or correction by the courts; compute parole and discharge dates. Initiate criminal identification process; direct preparation of legal forms and transfer, extradition, parole, and discharge of persons under the jurisdiction of CDCR. Act as consultants and advisors to departmental staff, court offices, incarcerated people, and other governmental agencies regarding departmental responsibility under pertinent law and administrative standards. Function as liaison between the Department and related city, county, State, and Federal agencies, incarcerated people and their families on matters concerning the application of sentence and parole laws and the control of incarcerated people in institutions and on parole. Analyze and act for the Department on subpoenas and collateral court orders; certify departmental records required by law. Review individual case actions of various term‑fixing and release‑granting authorities to assure legal and policy compliance; represent the Department in court as a custodian of records and expert witness. Update and maintain paroling authority calendar schedules, minutes, and implementation of decisions; respond to appeals of incarcerated people. Working Conditions The position is located at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center in Marin County, California. Main communication will be through email. Salary Range A: $4,176.00 - $5,231.00 Range B: $4,523.00 - $5,659.00 Range C: $5,420.00 - $6,790.00 Minimum Qualifications Experience: Two years of full‑time experience in a correctional or mental health setting performing duties in the maintenance, processing, and control of criminal case records for persons committed to the jurisdiction of local, State, or Federal correctional agencies. Experience in California state service applied toward this requirement must have been acquired at a level of responsibility equivalent to an Office Assistant, Range B. Education: The equivalent to completion of one year (30 semester or 45 quarter units) of college education. An additional year of the qualifying work experience may be substituted for the required education. Experience: Three years of full‑time specialized criminal case record‑keeping experience directly related to the courts, legal processes, or legal procedures. Experience in the California state service applied toward this requirement must have been acquired at a level of responsibility equivalent to an Office Assistant, Range B. Education: The equivalent to completion of one year (30 semester or 45 quarter units) of college education. An additional year of the qualifying work experience may be substituted for the required education.
