Tax Accountant - Part Time

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing tax and advisory firm supporting closely held businesses and their owners. This is a part-time, high-impact role (3 days per week or equivalent in hours) ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting, client interaction, and being a trusted partner in financial decision-making.

This position offers strong exposure across bookkeeping, payroll, and tax support, along with the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients and grow within the firm.

Job Details

What You'll Do

Payroll
Process payroll inputs using bi-weekly time reports for multiple entities (ranging from 8 to 50 employees)
Coordinate submissions with external payroll providers
Support owner-level payroll processing

Bookkeeping & Accounting
Review and maintain general ledger and trial balances within QuickBooks
Identify posting errors and recommend corrections to clients
Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including:
Bank reconciliations
Fixed asset schedules
Maintain accurate year-end workpapers and supporting schedules
Prepare and post adjusting journal entries
Manage and reconcile fixed asset accounts

Tax & Compliance Support
Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns (PA and FL)
Prepare and file quarterly PA vendor withholding returns (PA W-3)
Gather annual data for:
1099 reporting
1095 reporting
Florida Tangible Personal Property Tax

Client & Operational Support

Serve as a liaison between clients, business managers, and tax professionals
Assist with workers' compensation audits
Support clients with day-to-day accounting, payroll, and financial questions

What We're Looking For

4-6+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience
Strong experience with QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills
Solid understanding of payroll processes and systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organization and time management
Excellent communication skills with a client-facing mindset
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Self-starter with a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Master of Science in Taxation is a plus

Nice to Have

Experience working with family offices or closely held businesses
Exposure to multi-entity or high-net-worth client environments
