I'm currently partnering with a well-established and highly respected General Contractor to find an experiencedProject Executiveto join their leadership team in Charleston, South Carolina.
This is a senior operational leadership position for someone who has built a career leading large-scale construction projects, developing high-performing teams, managing key client relationships, and driving business growth.
The successful candidate will oversee a portfolio of projects, clients, and personnel while taking ownership of financial performance, risk management, and strategic planning across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and mentoring Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and Operations teams
- Driving project execution, quality, safety, and client satisfaction across multiple projects
- Acting as the executive point of contact for key clients and project stakeholders
- Supporting succession planning, talent development, and team growth
- Collaborating with executive leadership on staffing, promotions, and compensation decisions
- Providing executive oversight during preconstruction, procurement, and major buyout activities
- Leading business development efforts and helping secure repeat and new business opportunities
- Representing the company at industry events, client meetings, and pursuits
- Participating in strategic go/no-go decisions and growth initiatives
- Owning P&L performance and overseeing financial forecasting, risk management, and dispute resolution
- Supporting and overseeing Joint Venture partnerships and executive-level relationships
What We're Looking For

- Progressive construction leadership experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 18+ years of equivalent experience without a degree
- Proven experience managing teams, developing talent, and leading complex construction operations
- Strong financial, contractual, and risk management expertise
- Executive presence with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Background overseeing large commercial construction projects and multiple project teams simultaneously
- Strong business development mindset with a track record of helping grow a business
