Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Varied schedule requiring typically 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Monday/Friday) per week, plus 1 full weekend every 3rd week and 1 additional weekend shift. No on-call requirements.

Highlights:

• 26-bed Post-Partum unit caring for women of childbearing age and newborns
• Patient ratio of 6-8 patients per nurse
• Documentation systems include CPN and Meditech
• Experience includes post-partum care, LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births for baby care
• Float within Women's Services; cross-training to Pediatrics and/or NICU may be available
• Unit performs circumcisions and provides comprehensive maternal and newborn care

Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
• Active RN license
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Ability to assess and identify risk factors including sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide risk, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
• Strong time management and prioritization skills based on patient acuity and needs
• Experience with discharge education, abnormal assessment, and pain management
• Familiarity with AIDET and BSSR communication techniques preferred
