# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Mother Baby / Postpartum – Kansas Start Date: August 24, 2026
Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Schedule: Varied shifts including 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Monday/Friday) and 1 full weekend requirement every 3rd week plus 1 additional weekend; 6–8 patient ratio Highlights: - 26-bed postpartum unit providing comprehensive care for women of childbearing age and newborns- Experience with LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births for baby assessment- Documentation using CPN and Meditech EMR systems- Float within Women's Services or to Pediatrics/NICU if cross-trained- Procedures include circumcisions and post-delivery care- No on-call requirements; collaborative team environment with RN-focused staffing model Requirements: - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred- Current RN license in Kansas (or ability to obtain)- BLS and NRP certifications required- Strong assessment skills with ability to identify risk factors including sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide risk, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury- Proficiency in discharge education, pain management, time management, and prioritization based on patient acuity- Familiarity with AIDET and BSSR methodologies Why It's a Great Opportunity: This postpartum unit offers a rewarding opportunity to care for families during one of life's most meaningful moments.
