Job Title: Step Down RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: CCRN preferred Must-Have: - Experience with arterial lines and pulmonary artery catheters - Ability to accommodate LVADs and administer 2-4 drips - Strong organization and critical thinking skills - Rhythm identification test completion (proctored) upon starting the position Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in step down care within a moderate care unit. The unit serves patients with low acuity critical care needs. Patients are typically awaiting placement in higher acuity units. The environment will be fast-paced with a high volume of patient turnover. The position provides an excellent learning platform for various cardiovascular procedures and diagnoses. Candidates will develop and enhance their critical care and assessment skills. Experience with presurgical patients is beneficial. Ventilators, continuous renal replacement therapy, Impella devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps are not accepted in this unit. Candidates will monitor patients who may need extended observation before discharge. The role will involve critical interactions with a diverse patient population and various clinical scenarios. Candidates must be prepared for a dynamic and challenging work environment.
