Job Description Summary The Department of Surgery is actively recruiting for an administrative assistant for the division of Colorectal Surgery. Entity Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC - Univ) Worker Type Employee Worker Sub-Type Classified Cost Center CC001067 COM SURG Colorectal Surgery CC Pay Rate Type Hourly Pay Grade University-GEN06 Pay Range 37,200.00 - 48,300.00 - 59,500.000 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 WorkShift Job Description Pay Band: $37,200.00 - $48,300.00 - $59,500.00 (min - mid - max) Job Duties: 20% - Manages and schedules clinic appointments, revises clinic schedules as necessary, reviews clinics prior to clinic date to ensure that they are scheduled appropriately. Responsible for assuring completeness of patient records in EPIC prior to clinic. 20% - Responsible for maintaining scope schedules, scheduling diagnostic tests, or other ancillary procedures predominately for the Colon and Rectal Surgery Division and other divisions as needed. 20% - Serves as a contact person for the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Responsible for coordinating schedules to include scheduling meetings and preparing travel arrangements. Maintains calendars and assembles all appropriate information for upcoming meetings as well as briefing the Physician and Advanced Practitioners prior to the meetings. 15% - Helps manage patient referrals, ensuring that all outside records are received and appropriate ancillary tests have been requested and/or scheduled. 10% - Provide cross-coverage administrative support in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Maintain OR room utilization data entry within Hospital IQ. Maintain Provider schedules data entry within GQenda. 5% - Provide administrative support for the division as needed. 5% - Upload, proof and fax clinic notes to referring and consulting physicians. 5% - Other duties as assigned. Additional Job Description Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and two years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. Some positions require a valid driver's license and good driving record; or correctable vision of 20/40 in both eyes, with or without conventional lenses, and physical qualifications in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Section 391.41; or AAVMA certification. Some positions require eligibility for bonding.
