IT Acquisition Strategy Lead

Maven Group is seeking an IT Acquisition Strategy Lead to make sure a federal client's IT modernization plan is built around the contract realities that shape it. Contract expirations and license renewals are often the fixed dates a consolidation sequence has to respect, and you are where those dates enter the plan. Working with the client's acquisition leadership, your analysis tells the program when a service can move and when it has to wait. The ideal candidate brings federal acquisition strategy experience along with enterprise license and contract vehicle analysis, and has seen firsthand how contract timing can make or break a technical transition schedule. Key Responsibilities Coordinate contract, vehicle, licensing, vendor, and expiration analyses for consolidation decisions and migration planning. Review the acquisition analysis within each decision package. Identify contract consolidation opportunities and the renewal windows that constrain when a service can move. Determine for each migration path whether license reassignment, a contract action, or a specific approval is needed, and record the lead time each requires. Validate contract and obligation information against client records, reconciling conflicts or presenting them transparently. Supply the acquisition sequencing constraints that the Integrated Master Schedule and migration schedules must respect. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of relevant professional experience. Federal IT acquisition or contract analysis, including license and contract vehicle assessment. Experience treating procurement lead times as planning constraints. Must be able to successfully complete a federal background investigation and obtain and maintain the government credentials required for on-site client access. Preferred Qualifications Experience with enterprise software licensing consolidation. Familiarity with GSA Multiple Award Schedule vehicles and their ordering timelines. Experience supporting HHS or its operating divisions (such as CMS, CDC, FDA, or NIH) or other federal health and research agencies. Active federal credentials or a current Public Trust determination; candidates able to start quickly are strongly encouraged to apply. Work Location and Schedule Hybrid. This role supports a federal client in the Washington, DC metropolitan area (Maryland), with on-site work two to three days per week and local travel among client sites as needed. Compensation The anticipated salary range for this Manager position is 130,000–160,000. This range represents Maven Group's good faith estimate at the time of posting and is not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, market conditions, and geographic location. For positions supporting federal contracts, compensation may also be subject to applicable labor category requirements, contract terms, funding, and other contract‑specific provisions.
