Location: Berea, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Markel Management is a growing property management company overseeing residential communities throughout Ohio, Michigan, and Tennessee. We are seeking an organized, dependable, and motivated Property Management Assistant to help support our day-to-day operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in real estate, property management, business operations, or project coordination. No property management experience is required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
Position Overview
The Property Management Assistant will play a key role in supporting the management team by coordinating maintenance requests, communicating with tenants and vendors, organizing records, tracking projects, and helping ensure our properties operate efficiently. This position combines administrative work, customer service, project coordination, and occasional field visits.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily property management operations across multiple residential communities.
- Answer and respond to tenant inquiries by phone, email, and text.
- Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up to ensure work is completed.
- Schedule vendors, contractors, inspections, and property appointments.
- Track vacancies, move-ins, move-outs, inspections, and ongoing projects.
- Organize and maintain property files, leases, invoices, and company records.
- Scan, upload, and manage documents within company systems.
- Assist with reports, spreadsheets, and data entry.
- Communicate with vendors regarding scheduling, quotes, and project updates.
- Follow up on outstanding tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
- Conduct occasional property visits and meet vendors, inspectors, or contractors as needed.
- Assist management with special projects and process improvements.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Professional, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Comfortable learning new software and systems.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree (not required).
- Experience in customer service, administration, real estate, property management, construction, or operations.
- Experience coordinating schedules, projects, or vendors.
