Payroll Specialist

Overview Compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records by performing the following duties. This will be a hybrid role - working in office Monday and Tuesday morning and remote the remainder of the week. Responsibilities Compile payroll data such as hours worked, sales or piecework, taxes, and employee identification number, from timesheets and other records. Properly calculate time cards for employees working varied times and/or shifts. Review and reconcile payroll batches to assure correct paychecks. Prepare computer input forms, enter data into computer files, or compute wages and deductions and post to payroll records. Increase efficiency in payroll process. Maintain overall knowledge of how payroll process steps work. Self-starting / self-directing in payroll duties. Intermediate software understanding of payroll provider. Pull requested reports: Pay stubs/W-2, Direct deposit entry, W-4 entry, ROEs. Perform entry level processing of HR reports: New hires, status changes, terminated employees. Answer questions regarding exceptions or rounding of payroll records versus billing/account receivable records. Interact with field division personnel with calculations and timesheet concerns. Utilize Excel for internal metrics/reporting. Field questions from employees. Verify employment. Basic knowledge and navigation ability in Hulcher Customer Service software/database. File payroll reports/timesheets. Address complaints and resolve problems. Maintain confidentiality. Understand payroll hard deadlines. Team interaction and cooperation. Qualifications High school education or equivalent; payroll experience 1 to 2 years. Knowledge of operating systems: Dynamics SL, Paylocity, TimeClock Plus. Intermediate level knowledge and administrative ability to complete job tasks and access/update computer applications. Analytical skills to fully understand business requirements. Proficient skills and experience in verbal and written communication; active listening skills; ability to interpret information and document accurately. Ability to build solid relationships with all stakeholders to support workflow analysis and development. Adept completion of tasks with little or no error and minimal supervision. Ability to handle stressful, challenging situations. Physical demands: Employee must be able to work in a standard office environment. Employee must be able to operate a computer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
