About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join RIU Plaza New York Times Square Hotel as a Barista . In this role, you will be integral in facilitating a working atmosphere based on respect, collaboration and continuous learning. You’ll leverage your expertise in coffee making and guest service to contribute to our commitment to excellence and innovation .

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, shakes, and fresh juices.

• Oversee the presentation and handling of the lunch menu, pastries, and bakery items; actively upsell and promote the snacks menu.

• Manage daily mise en place , ensuring all ingredients, garnishes, and tools are fully prepared and stocked before and during service.

• Responsibly clear tables promptly and ensure drinks are served quickly and efficiently.

• Oversee the regular cleaning, organizing, and restocking of the cold-storage units and walk-ins.

• Responsibly handle cashier duties, process transactions accurately, and manage the point-of-sale (POS) system.

• Ensure all end-of-shift closing tasks and cleaning procedures designated by management are completed to standard.

• Maintain a positive, helpful, and welcoming attitude, paying close attention to the "small details" that elevate the guest experience.

• Attentively listen and respond to customer wishes, preferences, and suggestions.

Job Requirements

• NYC Food Handler Certification Required

✔️ What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Barista in a high-volume, upscale hotel or restaurant setting.

• Strong knowledge and hands-on expertise in crafting a wide variety of high-quality hot and cold coffees, artisanal teas, custom shakes, and fresh juices.

• Experience managing a lunch/snack menu, handling pastries, and operating the POS/cashier system accurately.

• Excellent multitasking abilities.

• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
