Executive Director of UC Eco-Resilience Initiative

Executive Director – Eco‑Anxiety Initiative The Eco‑Anxiety Initiative is a psychoeducational and community‑building project for UC students and faculty that runs across all 10 UC campuses. It delivers credit‑eligible classes to undergraduates, conducts research on the impact of the curriculum, and builds virtual and in‑person events, retreats, and summer institutes. The role leads this comprehensive UC‑wide effort, manages partnership building, and applies expertise in project management to ensure successful delivery across campuses. Key Responsibilities Supervision and collaboration of projects across 10 campuses, managing a sophisticated project management process for product and service delivery with broad, multi‑institutional scope. Provide guidance to internal and external personnel (UCSF team and 9 campus teams) on class, research evaluation, and related projects. Direct, initiate, and design projects critical to support enterprise‑level priorities; responsible for overall project management of cross‑campus projects. Lead and organize multi‑institutional activities, identify and mitigate risks, negotiate resources, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Interact with senior internal and external personnel from staff to deans and UCOP leaders. Work with the UC leadership team to maintain teacher training, identify qualified teachers across UCs and outside institutions, and lead course dissemination to external institutions. Serve as liaison with external teachers (mindfulness teachers and university faculty), develop training timelines, oversee in‑person and virtual training, and disseminate curriculum materials. Assist the leadership team with grant writing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related area and at least five years of experience, or equivalent experience/training. Graduate degree in medical or health sciences (MD or PhD). Teaching experience in mindfulness and psychosocial resilience skills. Experience managing educational initiatives or networks in healthcare and mindfulness; demonstrated integration of critical information across disciplines. Advanced knowledge of climate resilience psychosocial education initiatives and understanding of their organizational impact. Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and strong writing skills for research publications and grants. Effective communication with executive‑level management on a regular basis. Mentor and leader of professional teams. Project management certification (PMP, CSM, ACP, or equivalent). Preferred Graduate degree in medical or health sciences (MD or PhD). Highly collaborative approach to achieve significant results. Ability to anticipate obstacles and plan contingencies when disseminating curriculum. Experience analyzing complex, high‑impact projects and managing progress within time constraints. Certifications Project management certification (PMP, CSM, ACP, Six Sigma, Lean, or equivalent).
