Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Infusion Department at our Texas Imaging & Infusion Center Dallas location. This is a PRN (AS Needed) position. Typical hours are Mon-Fri (8:30am-5pm). This position does not require weekends, call, or major holidays. This position will be considered either I, II or Sr. depending on experience. What does the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age-specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique. Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, evaluating labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications Education/Training Level I Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Maintain continuing education requirements. Entry level – 0-3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level II Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level Senior Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred. Oncology certification preferred.
