Medical Laboratory Scientist

Medical Laboratory Assistant Providence Milwaukie Hospital – Milwaukie, Oregon Schedule Full-Time Night Shift, 7 days on / 7 days off, 8:30 pm – 7:00 am (starting Wednesday to Tuesday). Responsibilities The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. Performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance, and problem resolution. Collaborates with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, and other Laboratory Services staff. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program. Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences. National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology certification. National Clinical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology certification. National Medical Technologist – American Society for Clinical Pathology or American Medical Technologists certification. 1 year experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a laboratory department or exceeding the principal duties of an MLS I job description. Preferred Qualifications 3 years clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and high complexity laboratory.
