Business Unit Controller

PAK Quality Foods is a growing food distribution company committed to delivering quality products and exceptional service. We're looking for an experienced Business Unit Controller to join our Finance team and partner with operations to drive financial performance across our business. What You’ll Do As the Business Unit Controller, you'll serve as a key financial partner responsible for the financial management and operational performance of assigned business units. Key responsibilities include: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and financial analyses Develop budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analyses Analyze revenue, gross profit, labor, inventory, operating expenses, and other business costs Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and financial records Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, cash receipts, and cash disbursements Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards Support internal and external audits Partner with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, HR, and Executive Leadership to support business decisions Lead financial process improvements and enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency Mentor and support accounting team members What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non‑financial leaders High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Experience in food distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, logistics, or a similar industry Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Canopy, Sage, SAP, NetSuite, or similar platforms Cost accounting and inventory management experience Experience supporting multiple business units or locations PAK Quality Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
