Registered Nurse (RN)

Location

Position Details

This role requires a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide top-quality care in a critical care environment. The position includes:

• Shift: 12-hour nights; 1900-0730 for three shifts per week
• Experience in various settings, including ICU, Emergency Department, and critical care
• A patient-to-nurse ratio of no more than 3:1 or 4:1

Experience Requirements

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of recent Critical Care or ICU experience
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with medical procedures such as BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and lab draws
• Comfortable working independently without a vascular access team
• Experience with calling on own consults and conducting code situations
• Experience with managing open-heart patients on Day 2 or Day 3, specifically with pacer wires

Licensure and Certifications

Candidates must have:

• Current Kansas RN or Compact RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification

Additional Requirements

• Will be required to float to ICU and all inpatient units, including Med/Surge, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED, if prior experience is available
• Commitment to every other weekend working schedule
• Willingness to work at least one holiday each season, based on unit needs (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's)

Orientation and Training

New hires will attend a comprehensive orientation process, including:

• Initial two days of orientation at a centralized campus
• Subsequent days of training including unit-specific orientation and virtual training on the Epic Electronic Medical Records system

Work Environment

Please note that this is a nicotine-free facility, and all employees are expected to comply with this policy. Orientation hours may be non-billable.
