Superintendent 1

Jefferson LA, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Superintendent 1 to oversee and manage commercial construction projects from project startup through closeout. This role is responsible for coordinating daily jobsite operations, managing subcontractors and field crews, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in commercial construction field management, and the ability to effectively communicate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients. Essential Duties Manage and oversee all phases of assigned commercial construction projects from inception through completion Coordinate daily jobsite operations, manpower, subcontractors, and project sequencing Maintain project schedules and distribute weekly 3-week lookahead schedules Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents Identify discrepancies in plans and coordinate RFIs as needed Coordinate inspections, temporary facilities, equipment, and site logistics Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and pre-work planning meetings Maintain jobsite safety in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies Implement and oversee field quality control and safety plans Document daily project activities, labor tracking, photos, and reports using project management software Coordinate concrete pours, testing, commissioning, and final inspections Manage punch list completion and project closeout activities Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and field personnel Oversee Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews Support recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance management of field staff Monitor labor costs, field purchases, rental equipment, and company tools Maintain strong working relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors Requirements/Skills Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction field management experience required Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices, sequencing, and safety requirements OSHA 30 Hour Certification required Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, P6, and related project management software Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage subcontractors, field supervisors, and multiple project activities simultaneously Knowledge of budgeting, manpower planning, and scheduling practices Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Must be authorized to work in the United States Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods Ability to work in varying weather conditions and around dust, noise, moving equipment, and other construction-related hazards Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by phone, and electronically Regular attendance and flexibility to work evenings or weekends as project demands require Flexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
