Details ENT and Plastic Surgery Med/Surg unit within a Level I Trauma teaching hospital Cares for patients with cuffed/cuffless tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, carotid blow-out precautions, and free flap patients Patient ratio of 1:5 Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30) Every other weekend required No on-call responsibilities Floating required within service line to meet facility needs Uses Epic for charting Telemetry monitoring required on the unit Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence state) Current ACLS and BLS certifications required 2 years of RN experience preferred; will consider 1 year with Level I Trauma or teaching facility experience BSN preferred Epic charting experience required Skilled in drain care, post-op flap monitoring, tracheostomy and total laryngectomy care, tube feeding, phlebotomy, IV access, and central line management Additional preferred skills include port access/management, colostomy/ileostomy care, and IV insulin protocols Charge nurse experience preferred Additional Information Provide comprehensive Med/Surg nursing care for ENT and plastic surgery patients, including complex airway and wound management Navy blue scrubs required No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment Facial hair must accommodate proper fit testing or must be shaved First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted Standard travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service Former permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler American Traveler Job ID P-749662.
