Somich & Associates CPAs is a growing public accounting firm in Willoughby, Ohio, supporting individuals, business owners, and family-owned enterprises across Lake County and Northeast Ohio in their growth and longevity. The firm is young, technologically advanced, and built from the ground up, with a client base that spans financial services, technology, and commercial sectors. Beyond tax planning and compliance, the team provides IRS representation, bookkeeping, payroll, financial analysis, and outsourced CFO services. The Role

The Tax Manager is a critical position in a growing firm. You will lead tax engagements, review the team's work, and develop the people around you, while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. It is a great fit for an ambitious professional who wants to make a visible impact on clients, the team, and the community.

What You Will Do

Manage a portfolio of tax and accounting engagements, often several at once
Review individual and business tax returns and ensure quality and compliance
Lead tax research and deliver clear, practical solutions to clients and team members
Guide tax planning strategies that help clients improve their tax position
Prepare and review technical memos and other client deliverables
Anticipate client concerns, resolve issues, and identify ways to improve service
Supervise, mentor, and train a growing team of seniors, staff, and interns
Build relationships with referral sources and centers of influence to support firm growth

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
About 5 to 8+ years of public accounting tax experience
CPA required (EA considered)
Proven experience reviewing returns and supervising staff
Strong knowledge of individual and business tax and current legislation
Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills
A collaborative leader who enjoys developing others
