Associate Attorney

We are looking for a civil litigation attorney to join our firm. We are the Illinois office (located in Oak Brook) of Bodell Bove LLC - an East Coast Boutique law firm that is headquartered in Philadelphia. The candidate must be able to individually manage civil litigation cases in Cook County and all of the outer-lying counties, as well as in federal court. The position involves working mostly with clients in the Retail, Restaurant & Hospitality industries and also clients with premises and product liability claims. The clients you will be working with are large corporations, insurance companies, and small businesses. The majority of case files will involve negligence, wrongful death, premises liability, security issues and/or Dram allegations. Responsibilities Be responsible for overall case file organization and handling Investigate claims and development of litigation action plans - which involves traveling to client properties for investigations (throughout Northern Illinois) Prepare and respond to pleadings Prepare and respond to written discovery Analyze medical records Prepare discovery and dispositive motions Prepare clients for and attend discovery depositions Attend court appearances Client reporting Maintain client relationships Qualifications Law Degree Admitted to Illinois state bar and Northern District of Illinois Practicing attorney for at least 1-3 years, with experience in civil litigation - tort experience preferred Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills References This position allows for flexibility with a combination of working from home and in the office, however, the candidate must be in the Northern Illinois area and able to drive to court and client locations.
