Qualifications Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist Endorsement Experience implementing culturally responsive services to students and families from diverse backgrounds Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills Strong skills with data collection and analysis Successful experience at the high school preferred Performance Evaluation Performance will be evaluated annually by the Associate Principal for Students and Family Services in accordance with District 207's evaluation procedures and aligned to district priorities for teaching and learning. Professional Expectations Evaluate cognitive, academic, and/or social emotional functioning of students with both high and low incidence disabilities and complete relevant documentation Participate in special education multidisciplinary conferences, Section 504, and IEP meetings Develop data collection methods, analyze results, and identify interventions to meet student needs Apply problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to assist in managing student crisis through the PREPaRE model Provide solution‑focused individual and group counseling services to students Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop individualized goals, behavior plans, and interventions Assist families with the referral and coordination of community supports Provide professional development on restorative practices, social‑emotional learning, interventions, and progress monitoring Support implementation of MTSS interventions related to attendance, universal screeners, mental health, social‑emotional and behavior Participate in student support teams to develop and monitor intervention and support plans Conduct risk assessments and collaborate with the school's mental health team, families, and external providers as appropriate All other duties as assigned Skills to Support These Responsibilities Interpersonal & Communication Skills – Builds positive relationships with students, staff, and families through empathy, respect, and effective communication. Crisis Intervention & De‑escalation Skills – Responds appropriately to student crises and supports trauma‑informed practices. Technology Proficiency – Utilizes Google Workspace, student information systems (e.g., Infinite Campus), and digital counseling tools. Team Collaboration – Works effectively with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement student supports. Adaptability & Continuous Learning – Stays current on best practices, legislation, and innovations in counseling and education. Confidentiality & Ethics – Upholds all legal and ethical guidelines in student recordkeeping and counseling practices. Additional Qualifications – Other skills and qualifications as determined by the Board of Education and Administration. Working Conditions/Environment/Physical Requirements Work Environment: The employee is required to work in both school and office settings and must be able to operate effectively in environments that include moderate noise levels, frequent interruptions, and interactions with students, staff, and community members. Work may involve extended periods of sitting and using technology or office equipment. The employee must be able to travel between school sites and district offices as needed. Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds, move freely throughout school facilities, and participate in meetings and presentations that require mobility and clear communication. The employee must possess visual and auditory acuity sufficient to perform job‑related functions, including reading documents, navigating screens, and participating in in‑person and virtual meetings. Flexibility & Availability: This position requires a high degree of flexibility throughout the school day to meet student needs. Professional Commitment: The employee is expected to maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and professional demeanor. Responsiveness to communication, timely completion of assigned tasks, and adherence to district policies and timelines are essential to the successful performance of this position. Employment Salary, benefits, and the work year are established in accordance with the current District 207 Collective Bargaining Agreement and Board of Education policies.
