Shipping / Receiving Clerk

Hurco is looking for a Shipping / Receiving Clerk to join our team in Indianapolis.

We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team. This position is responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, documentation, storage, and shipment of materials, parts, equipment, and products.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and takes pride in maintaining accurate inventory and shipping records.

Responsibilities

Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities, part numbers, and condition against purchase orders and shipping documents.
Inspect incoming materials for visible damage and report discrepancies or issues to the appropriate personnel.
Prepare and package products and materials for shipment according to customer and company requirements.
Create shipping documentation, packing lists, labels, and other required paperwork.
Coordinate shipments with freight carriers, parcel services, and internal departments.
Enter receiving and shipping transactions accurately into the company's ERP/MRP system.
Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
Properly identify, label, and store received materials in designated locations.
Assist with inventory counts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
Maintain an organized and safe shipping and receiving area.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as authorized.
Communicate effectively with Purchasing, Production, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and other departments regarding material and shipment status.
Assist with resolving shipping, receiving, and delivery issues.
Follow all company safety procedures and shipping/receiving policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, or manufacturing experience preferred.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn ERP/MRP systems, D365 a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing lists, shipping documents, and part information.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, vendors, carriers, and customers.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
Forklift experience or certification is preferred.
Must be able to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required by the position.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to frequently lift and move materials and packages.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and climb as needed.
Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
Ability to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
