Referral and Scheduling Coordinator

Become a part of our caring community The Referral and Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient referrals, obtaining necessary authorizations, scheduling appointments, and ensuring seamless communication between patients, providers, specialists, and insurance companies. This role serves as a subject matter expert for referral and scheduling processes, resolves complex scheduling and authorization issues, supports departmental goals, and provides guidance to team members. The coordinator maintains a high level of accuracy, customer service, and compliance while promoting positive patient experiences and efficient care coordination.

This position is a hybrid role. You will need to be able to travel to the Shreveport area at least three times a week. The Referral and Scheduling Coordinator 2 gathers and communicates all relative information and preparation instructions to patient and referring providers. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Use your skills to make an impact Required Qualifications Less than 3 years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population Proficient with medical terminology Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Experience with Electronic Medical Records Excellent professional communication abilities, at all levels within the organization and with patients, at all times This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$40,000 - $52,300 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
