Staff Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Baltimore, MD. Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with company accounting policies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Concur, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of general accounting principles. Key Responsibilities:

• Staff Accountant will perform daily accounting activities, including recording and reviewing financial transactions
• Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting documentation
• Prepare bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Review, code, and process employee expense reports through Concur
• Maintain and reconcile accounts within QuickBooks
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments
• Support financial reporting and management reporting activities
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and transactional issues
• As a Staff Accountant, you will assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks
• Hands-on experience with Concur expense management software
• Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Experience supporting month-end close activities

• Experience working in a small to mid-sized business environment
