Financial Account Analyst

STGi is currently seeking a Financial Account Analyst to support our Federal Occupational Health (FOH) contract in Rockville, MD. Position type: Hybrid.

JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Account Analyst is trained in basic accounts receivable, GAAP, basic knowledge of appropriation law, duties include an administrative review of Inter-Agency Agreements (IAA), monitoring of the spend rate, the collection of rejected bills and coordination of resolution, providing various billing reports to customers, responding to finance office and program managers, and partnering with Operation leads, Account Executives, and Program Managers for Federal Occupational Health (FOH) services areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Address funding issues (missing, outstanding, or short funding) with customers, provide requested reports, research and resolve billing issues, review per capita charges at month‑end, validate fund availability, respond to general customer service inquiries, and assist account executives and operational leads in maintaining customer relationships. Work with the FOH program manager to review and recommend financial adjustments to customer proposed funding based on actual services requested. Explain recommendations for financial adjustments to customer funding requests based on actual services. Review customer funding proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with FOH policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Review and analyze customer budgets to identify trending patterns and anomalies in expenditures. Routinely monitor customer spending to ensure appropriate draw down against billing charges for services. Inform FOH program staff of status and availability of customer funds for services. Communicate analysis results of customer accounts effectively. Conduct deobligation activities for IAA closeout, including researching deobligation funding requests, verifying funding amounts, checking pending charges, coordinating with Operations Leads, routing deobligation requests for review and signatory approval, returning executed forms to customers, uploading deobligation forms to the FOH system, and adjusting allocations to match executed documents. Enter funding levels and revenue estimates for customers in the FOH information system, resolve accounts receivable/chargeback/credit card rejections, coordinate communication among customer and FOH divisions, assist customers with status reports, conduct charge quality assurance related to per capita calculations and/or funds availability, run utilization reports, evaluate/notify/review population changes with per capita managers and finance managers. Assist in preparing customer meetings and preparing the Financial Information Packet for mailing via secure fax; evaluate and review billing errors with operating division representatives. Prepare summary reports or other reports as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

One year of experience in customer service in a health‑related field or three years of experience in customer account management (including account receivable activity). Intermediate Excel skills and basic Word skills with proficiency in MS Office; customer relations experience; ability to learn new systems. Works well independently and as a team member; excellent verbal and written communication skills; leadership and organizational skills. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, follow‑through, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and an understanding of internal and external customer service as demonstrated on the resume.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., Accounting) or Bachelor's Degree.
