A highly respected Houston law firm is seeking an experienced Accounting & Client Operations Manager to join its leadership team. Reporting directly to the Firm Administrator, you'll serve as a trusted business partner responsible for overseeing key accounting functions while helping manage several operational areas that keep the firm running efficiently. Position Overview

This role combines accounting leadership with operational management. You'll help oversee the firm's financial operations, support client billing and eBilling, supervise accounting support staff, and partner with the Firm Administrator on a variety of administrative and operational initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

• Assist with oversight of the firm's accounting operations, including general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Support financial reporting and ensure the accuracy of accounting records
• Review and approve employee expense reports
• Serve as backup for payroll processing
• Help supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting support team
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls

Client Billing & Revenue Operations

• Oversee client billing processes and assist with complex billing matters
• Manage electronic billing (eBilling) through a variety of client billing portals
• Partner with attorneys and staff to ensure timely, accurate billing and collections support
• Resolve billing questions while maintaining a high level of client service

Firm Operations

• Serve as a key operational resource and strategic partner to the Firm Administrator
• Manage the firm's relationship with Iron Mountain, including document storage and retrieval services
• Coordinate IT software licensing and subscription renewals
• Assist with facilities management and vendor coordination
• Support administrative projects and firm-wide operational initiatives
• Help identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience within a law firm or other professional services organization is strongly preferred
• Experience with legal billing and electronic billing (eBilling)
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial operations
• Experience with Juris software is a plus, but not required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong overall technical proficiency
