Our client seeks a motivated Platform Engineer to support mission-critical Foreign Exchange trading platforms. The role offers early-career professionals the opportunity to learn FX products and workflows while contributing to application support, testing, automation, and platform improvements across Aphelion, WallStreet Systems, Caplin, and related integrations. The position emphasizes collaboration, clear communication, and the use of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Rate: $35.00 to $38.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Develop understanding of FX trading products, workflows, and business processes.
• Learn and support Aphelion, WallStreet Systems (WSS), Caplin, and associated integrations and downstream applications.
• Participate in day-to-day application support activities under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Create and execute test plans and cases. Document results and partner with developers and business users to resolve issues.
• Support production releases and validation activities.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production incidents and application issues.
• Monitor application health and participate in operational support activities.
• Assist in root cause analysis and document recurring issues.
• Contribute to process improvements that reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
• Use SQL to query, analyze, and troubleshoot application and business data.
• Support data validation, reconciliation, and issue investigation.
• Develop skills with databases, APIs, integrations, and cloud technologies.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve productivity.
• Build scripts, utilities, and automation solutions to reduce operational effort and improve reliability.
• Support automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools for troubleshooting, documentation, testing, and development.
• Partner with teammates to improve testing efficiency, documentation, monitoring, and operations.
• Contribute ideas to modernize practices and increase delivery speed.
• Work closely with technology, operations, and business partners. Communicate issues, risks, and progress. Participate in Agile ceremonies and knowledge sharing. Build relationships across the capital markets technology organization.

Experience Requirements:

• 0 to 3 years of technology experience.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
• Preferred: Internship or co-op in software development, technology operations, infrastructure, or application support.
• Preferred: Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts.
• Preferred exposure to Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript, REST APIs, and Git.
• Preferred experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar.
• Preferred exposure to Azure or AWS.
• Preferred knowledge of Agile and Scrum.
• Preferred interest in financial markets, trading systems, or banking technology.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or related technical discipline.

The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
