Purchasing SpecialistBegin your Composites One career today!Position Overview:As a Purchasing Specialist, you will provide administrative and operational support to the Consolidated Purchasing Team. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth purchasing transactions, accurate system entry, and effective communication with vendors, sales, and internal teams.Key Responsibilities:Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth transactions and excellent serviceRespond to inquiries on specs, pricing, and lead times from Sales and Customer Service teamsCollaborate with vendors to obtain product details and resolve order-related issuesVerify specifications and purchase requests from internal teamsProcess purchase orders, including those from stock-out vendorsCoordinate expedited orders, arrange freight, and track shipmentsMaintain relationships and manage purchasing for a small group of assigned vendorsRun and analyze purchasing metrics (e.g., fill rate, GMROI, aged inventory) to support strategyMonitor inventory trends and share insights with Supply Chain and Sales teamsTroubleshoot issues with pricing, POs, requisitions, and deliveriesResolve supplier quality concerns; coordinate with Accounts Payable and Distribution CentersVerify supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in pricing or freight chargesMaintain product documentation (e.g., SDS, tech sheets, certificates of analysis)Develop and deliver inventory and purchasing control reportsUpdate system costs due to price or freight changes and notify relevant teamsExpected Skills and Qualifications:A minimum of 2 or more years of experience with purchasing/inventory management in a sales/distribution environment, including experience in supply chain, distribution, warehouse, and/or logistics sectorsKnowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materialsGeneral understanding of standard Supply Chain management processes related to inventory management and procurementBasic understanding of transportation and logistics and associated safety and documentation requirements, and the distribution process work flowAbility to conduct studies, analyze, and interpret statistical data, and make recommendations and decisionsStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency using MS Office software to effectively execute work tasks, including Excel and Word; ability to learn internal database and software systemsHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalentPreferred Skills & Qualifications:Prior experience with SAPExperience in the Aerospace industryBachelor's DegreePre-Employment Requirement:Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
