MRI Technologist

Role Overview MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform and assist with magnetic resonance imaging procedures, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis, and ensure patient safety and proper preparation. Key Responsibilities Obtain correct orders, properly identify patients, and prepare them for exams while respecting confidentiality. Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize safety. Prepare and administer medications via vascular access under licensed practitioner's guidance. Evaluate image quality, verify data transfer, and assist with post-processing as needed. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers. Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to minimize risks. Assist with interventional procedures and perform prescribed MRI scans. Select pulse sequences considering protocols and data acquisition factors. Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in job duties. Qualifications & Skills Certification by ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with ARRT-MR required. Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong knowledge of MRI safety, protocols, and technical procedures. Ability to educate others, work independently, and participate in organizational initiatives. This role is performed primarily in a clinical setting, with accountability for compliance with policies and procedures.
