Performance Responsibilities Arranges furnishing and equipment for meetings, classroom activities and special events. Assists other personnel, as required, to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work unit. Attends in-service training (e.g., bloodborne pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, first aid, etc.) to receive information on new and/or improved procedures. Cleans assigned school facilities (classrooms, offices, multi‑purpose rooms, restrooms, grounds, etc.) to maintain a sanitary, safe and attractive environment. Evaluates situations involving staff, students, parents, the public, etc. to take appropriate action or direct to appropriate personnel for resolution. Inspects facilities to ensure safe operation, attractive and clean condition and or identify necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc. Maintains supplies and equipment (cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuum, mops, etc.) to ensure availability of items required for proper maintenance. Repairs furniture and equipment as required (faucets, toilets, replace lights, etc.) to ensure items are available and in safe working condition. Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (facility damage, alarms, graffiti, etc.) to resolve immediate safety issues and maintain a functioning educational environment. Secures facilities and grounds to minimize property damage, equipment loss and potential liability to organization. Specific Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Skills required include: operating equipment and materials used in industrial maintenance, including electrical cleaning equipment, common tools, etc., and adhering to safety practices; lifting up to seventy‑five pounds; preparing and maintaining accurate records. Knowledge required includes: methods of industrial cleaning; preserving floors, walls, fixtures; cleaning materials; safety practices and procedures. Abilities required include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; working with constant interruptions; adapting personal daily schedule to accommodate abnormal work hours.
