Job Type: Full-time | Day Shift | Mondays - Fridays | No Nights, Weekends or Holidays
Locations: Grand Rapids, MI and Wyoming, MI

About the Position

Grand Valley Medical Specialists is looking for a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to join our team.  If you enjoy working with patients, like working closely with providers and are looking for a predictable Monday–Friday schedule, this may be a great fit.

GVMS is a physician-owned private practice that has been serving the Grand Rapids community since the 1930s.  We have 15 physicians and 5 advanced practice providers in internal medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine.

As a Medical Assistant, you'll work closely with our providers and patients and be an important part of the day-to-day care we provide.

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Room patients and prepare them for their visits
• Take vital signs and update patient histories
• Assist providers with exams and procedures
• Administer medications and immunizations as directed by providers
• Communicate patient concerns and provider instructions to the care team
• Keep patient records accurate and up to date in the EHR
• Assist with electronic prescriptions and medication prior authorizations
• Help keep exam rooms and clinical areas clean, organized, and ready for patients
• Provide friendly and respectful care to our patients

What We’re Looking For

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Current CMA or RMA certification/registration
• Previous clinical experience preferred
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working with an electronic health record
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Able to work well with providers and other members of the care team
• Someone who treats patients with kindness and respect

What We Offer

• $18–$24/hour based on experience
• $3,000 sign-on bonus
