Location: Denville, NJ 07834

Employment Type: Part-time (20-30 hours/week, 20 hours guaranteed)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM (flexible with occasional extended hours as needed)

Compensation: $30–$35/hour

Start Date: ASAP

About Our Family

We are a warm and close-knit family of four, balancing the demands of our busy lives while striving to create lasting memories together. Our two young children are at the heart of our home, and we want to ensure that every moment spent with them is filled with connection, growth, and joy. Our primary goal is to create a home where our kids can thrive; peaceful, organized, and filled with space for them to grow, learn, and explore. To achieve this, we need to free up our time from managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the home, allowing us to focus more on being present with our children.

We're fortunate to have a lot of family nearby, which means our home is often a gathering spot for relatives and friends. Whether it's weekend get-togethers or spontaneous visits, there's always someone dropping by for a cup of coffee or to hang out with the kids. While we love hosting and spending time with our loved ones, we also want to create a peaceful space to recharge and focus on what matters most, being present with our children and enjoying quality family time.

We're looking for someone who can help us maintain that balance, keeping everything running smoothly so we can focus less on the day-to-day logistics and more on enjoying the good stuff. If you're organized, proactive, and love being part of a lively household, we'd love to have you join us in creating a home where everything feels effortless and our family can thrive.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

We're looking for a self-directed, efficient, highly organized individual who takes pride in creating functional, beautiful systems that make a home feel welcoming and impeccably maintained. You possess a strong sense of initiative and ownership, ensuring tasks are completed with precision from start to finish. Your attention to detail is unparalleled, whether it's organizing a closet, ensuring laundry is treated to perfection, or managing household systems with the highest standards. You're extremely meticulous in everything you do, with a keen eye for spotting areas that need attention.

You have a strong sense of aesthetic and attention to detail, ensuring that everything is not only organized but visually appealing as well. With a project manager mentality, you approach your work with an eye for the big picture while also handling the small details that make everything run smoothly. You're an excellent communicator, taking the initiative to address issues before they arise and ensuring things are done efficiently.

You are warm, friendly, and approachable, yet you maintain clear professional boundaries while seamlessly integrating into the family's life. While household management is your primary focus, you're also comfortable and experienced with children, supporting their needs in a way that aligns with the family's values. The ideal candidate thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and is capable of anticipating needs without constant direction. You are a true problem solver who can juggle multiple responsibilities while remaining calm, organized, and positive. You take pride in your work and are always looking to improve, making sure everything is handled with the utmost care and efficiency.

Household Management & Organization
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding, etc.)
  • Awareness of family calendar and schedules
  • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups
  • Support packing/unpacking seasonal transitions (for kids)
  • Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers, pool maintenance)
Laundry & Linen Care
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize laundry with meticulous attention to detail (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Sort and treat fabrics according to their specific needs, including delicate items
  • Iron, steam, and prepare outfits, duvets, as needed
  • Manage linens, rotating bedding, refreshing towels, and restocking essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy, well-stocked, and organized for efficiency
Inventory Management & Errands
  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists.
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning pickup, gift shopping
  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries
Meal Support
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items.
  • Assist with light meal prep (as needed; follow recipe)
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness
Vendor & Property Oversight
  • Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers, pool maintenance)
  • Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes
  • Manage routine upkeep properties
  • Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs
  • Manage and ensure home readiness for family or guest use
  • Oversee property-specific systems (e.g., HVAC, security, pool maintenance)
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors or guests
Family Support & Child Assistance
  • Manage the children's personal items (diaper bags, car bags, extra outfits), ensuring they are always stocked with essentials and ready to go
  • Light supervision and playtime when needed (focus on creating a comfortable environment for the kids without direct frequent childcare responsibilities)
  • Help with child-related errands or organizing tasks
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
  • Tackle deep cleaning projects (fridge, oven, baseboards)
  • Maintain and refresh specific zones in the home (entryways, garage, mudroom, pool house)
  • Clean washing machines monthly
  • Organize and manage special projects (toy storage, seasonal decorations, etc.).
Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
  • Help with travel planning, scheduling, and logistics
  • Awareness of family calendars and reminders
  • Assist with coordination of events, appointments, and guest prep
