Nursing Professional Development Practitioner - Transport Team

Location Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Chicago, IL, United States. Overview We are looking for a registered nurse to serve as a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner for our Transport Team. The practitioner will influence professional role competence and professional growth of learners in a variety of settings, supporting lifelong learning in an inter‑professional environment that facilitates continuous development for the health‑care team. Responsibilities Develops knowledge and competency in pediatric nursing and professional development practices. Evaluates personal practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, and relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. Implements strategies for seamless transitions to practice and between practice settings. Assesses clinical skills of staff, provides learning opportunities to advance clinical competencies and decision‑making skills, and documents competencies. Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions. Facilitates professional role development. Actively works to assist in transformation processes at the unit/area level, utilizing project management and improvement processes. Other job functions as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing required (Master’s preferred in adult education). Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Illinois. ANCC recognized certification in a specialty area of clinical practice. Minimum three years of clinical experience in a specialty area (preferred). Strong preference for direct experience in transport, EMS/emergency, or pediatric critical care (NICU, PICU, CVICU). Basic Life Support certification required from the American Heart Association. CPR instructor within 6 months of hire. Resuscitation requirements as appropriate to specialty area within 6 months of hire. Compensation Pay range: $83,200.00 to $137,280.00 per year.
