University of Nevada, Las Vegas – Eadington Fellow Special Collections and Archives (SCA) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites researchers to apply for the William R. Eadington Fellowship Program. The application cycle opens on May 15, 2026, and closes on July 1, 2026. Named in honor of economist William R. Eadington, the fellowships support on‑site research at SCA into any aspect of gaming and gambling. Projects focusing on gaming and gambling are prioritized, but projects about Las Vegas or Southern Nevada unrelated to gaming and gambling will also be considered. Two types of fellowships are awarded: Four‑week resident fellowship – $3,000 stipend; residency required between September 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. Two‑week visiting fellowship – $1,500 stipend; residency must be completed by June 30, 2026. Requirements: Applicants must indicate fellowship type and preferred residency dates on the application form and cover letter. Eligibility: enrolled graduate students (preferred PhD candidates in‑progress dissertations) and university faculty members. Independent scholars are also considered. Applicants must deliver a public talk, which will be live streamed and recorded for the University Libraries YouTube channel. Must be able to work in Las Vegas at SCA between September 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. Must specify research materials to use in the research statement; review the scope of collections before applying. Application materials (no recommendation letters required): Cover sheet with name, contact, enrollment status or job title, project title, fellowship type, and preferred dates. Cover letter introducing yourself and briefly describing your project. Research statement (≈750 words) detailing agenda, goal, and significance. Short CV (1–2 pages) with contact; education; select publications; grants/fellowships. Stipends are not eligible for health benefits or paid leave; fellowship participants must participate in the FICA Alternative Retirement Contributions.
