Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist for our south suburban manufacturing client. As a Payro ll Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for approximately 1,800 employees across North America. This position requires a hands‑on payroll professional with strong experience in ADP Vantage and the ability to manage multiple payroll cycles in a fast‑paced environment. What you will work on Process multiple weekly payrolls across both hourly and salary employee populations, including Canada. Utilize ADP Vantage to manage payroll transactions, employee updates, earnings, deductions, taxes, and reporting activities. Review payroll data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and research and resolve payroll-related issues. Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local payroll regulations, company policies, and tax requirements. Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other stakeholders to support employee lifecycle changes affecting payroll. Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external requirements. Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll processes with a high level of customer service. Support year‑end payroll activities, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements. Recommend process improvements and help maintain efficient payroll operations. What you will bring 3+ years of payroll experience, including high‑volume payroll processing. Hands‑on expertise with ADP Vantage is required. Experience processing U.S. payroll, with working knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and compliance. Strong attention to detail and ability to audit, reconcile, and resolve payroll discrepancies. Knowledge of federal, state, provincial, and local payroll laws. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills and a customer‑service mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting. Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively in a hybrid setting.
