The Director of Development will play a central leadership role in helping secure the philanthropic investments necessary to bring these transformative projects to life while working with a talented, mission-driven team that values innovation, accountability, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture. Responsibilities The Director of Development is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports Habitat Long Island’s mission, values, and home building priorities. Develop and implement bold fundraising plans that drive revenue growth and long-term sustainability including spearheading major gifts, capital campaigns, annual giving, corporate sponsorships, and grant funding efforts. Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, corporate leaders and community leaders. Develop and manage strategic partnerships that generate significant in‑kind donations of building materials, construction services, and skilled labor. Supervise, mentor, and develop fundraising and outreach team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Establish annual and quarterly goals for team members and monitor performance through KPIs, dashboards, and accountability systems. Maintain fundraising dashboards and reporting systems to track performance, donor activity, pipeline development, and revenue goals. Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to strengthen fundraising engagement, donor cultivation, campaign strategy, and community relationships.
