Job Purposes
The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting employees throughout the employment lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to engagement, learning, development, and day-to-day employee support, working closely with the Senior HR Business Partner. In this varied HR Generalist role, you will primarily support our Canada and USA teams while also gaining exposure to wider regional and global HR activity. You will work across multiple areas of HR, including recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, benefits, immigration and mobility, employee relations, and HR operations, helping to deliver a positive, compliant, and consistent employee experience. Professionalism, discernment, and confidentiality are necessary in this position. The HR Generalist will be trusted to manage important HR processes and personnel data for North America, support recruitment and benefits administration, contribute to Learning and Development initiatives, and take part in projects that make a meaningful impact on employees and the business. The postholder will be required to support global recruitment and tasks in other regions as required.
Responsibilities
HR Frameworks and Tools - Contribute to the drafting of HR frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, diversity, employee onboarding and offboarding, and retention of talent, within an area of expertise, ensuring compliance with specified design principles, internal policies, and external legal requirements. Deliver upon HR Frameworks and enable the attraction, development, and retention of talent at a sustainable cost.
HR Data Management - Contribute to the development and testing of HR data collection forms or questionnaires in a specific area of expertise to ensure the collection of relevant data in line with defined requirements.
HR Data Analytics and Insights - Deliver complex analyses of HR data; identify key trends and contribute to the creation of HR insights that enable the diagnosis of business issues, enhancement of employee engagement, and/or improvement of business performance.
Information and Business Advice - Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to HR Business Partners.
Policies and Procedures Development - Contribute to the drafting of policies, procedures, and related guidelines within an area of expertise to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.
Continuous Improvement - Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement - Assist with stakeholder engagement by arranging actions, meetings, events, and supporting materials to promote stakeholder understanding and commitment.
Operational Compliance - Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
Personal Capability Building - Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level experience in a related field General Experience: Experience in HR administrative and generalist duties, secretarial and/or administrative support in a similar team environment with ability to work unsupervised. Good knowledge of HR policies and procedures with a basic understanding of employment law. Must be PC proficient in key packages such as: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and experience of using HR databases/ systems. Workday HCM experience preferred. LinkedIn Recruiter knowledge and/or certification desired. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all communications. Ability to work well in a team environment under supervision and with a willingness to assist others. Flexible with the ability to prioritize and reprioritize due to conflicting demands. Demonstration of high quality of technical ability, competence and productivity Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and build relationships with key stakeholders and employees across the business. High level of self-motivation and initiative with ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. Cost conscious and aware of personal contribution to Company profitability.
