Job description:

Yellowfin Yachts is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant with a strong focus on Accounts Payable to join our Finance team. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with general accounting functions. The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key responsibilities :

• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently while ensuring proper approvals and coding.
• Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices (three-way match).
• Prepare weekly payment runs via ACH, wire transfers, and checks.
• Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and banking information.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and build positive working relationships.
• Monitor outstanding invoices to ensure timely payment and maximize available discounts.
• Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and credit card accounts
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation
• Assist with fixed asset tracking and reconciliations
• Help ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies

Additional Responsibilities :

• Support inventory and manufacturing accounting functions as needed
• Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
• Cross-train within the Finance department to provide backup support
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Accounting required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 3-5 years of accounting experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Manufacturing or inventory accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Compensation:

Market rate dependent upon experience and qualifications.
