Public Works I (PW I) - Compost Site Attendant Needed!

Summary

Manheim Township is seeking a reliable individual to join our Public Works team as a Compost Site Attendant. This role involves managing point-of sale transactions and verification of quantity and type of material for disposal in accordance with Compost Site regulations.

Essential Functions:

Check vehicle type and quantity/type of material to ensure it is acceptable for disposal at the Compost Site.
Determine the fees to be charged in accordance with a posted fee schedule. This will be a "no cash" operation - credit/debit cards only.
Process cashless payments using an automated credit card/debit card payment system after determining the applicable fee based on the posted fee schedule
Demonstrate polite and courteous manner towards customers and coworkers
Follow proper safety procedures

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
Able to stand and walk for extended periods
Some bending, pushing, and pulling may be required .
Proficient use of hands and fingers is essential.
Clear communication, vision, and hearing are necessary.
