Strategic Contract Manager: Negotiation & Risk Lead

Manager, Contract Management Capital One is seeking a Manager, Contract Manager to join the Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) team. The role involves drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts with third‑party suppliers, and ensuring all agreements meet Capital One’s contracting standards and business objectives. Key Responsibilities Assessment and Planning: Assess transactions, create deal strategies, collaborate with customers and stakeholders to determine risks and design execution plans. Drafting: Draft or redline contracts, ensuring protections, using industry best practices. Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers, develop strategies, adapt to changes, partner with internal resources. Transaction Management: Manage multiple transactions independently, drive to completion within timelines. Communication: Engage with associates, leadership, suppliers, and internal stakeholders about risks and updates. Collaboration: Work closely with ESM team, business teams, and stakeholders. Strategic Advice: Use knowledge of Capital One’s policies to advise customers on risk minimization. Basic Eligibility Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience. At least 4 years of experience in drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and executing procurement contracts. Preferred Qualifications Juris Doctorate. 4+ years of experience in drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and executing procurement contracts. 4+ years of experience creating and executing contracting and negotiation strategies. Benefits Competitive salary ranging from $149,800 to $205,100 (location depends) for full‑time positions. Performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long‑term incentives.
