Overview Department/Unit: Operating Room Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $46,947.00 - $65,726.00 Responsibilities Maintain sterile field Prepare operating rooms and assist with patient positioning as needed Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening; maintain sterility while scrubbed; maintain sterility of instruments and supplies Performance of accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and procedures Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent — Required Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program (CST) — Required NYS LPN also acceptable, if not CST Additional Information Surgical Technologists are allied health professionals who are an integral part of the team of practitioners providing surgical care to patients. They work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures, ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and patient safety is maintained.
