Safety Manager

Posted Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 4:00 AM Dynetek Solutions is seeking an experienced and hands-on Safety Manager to lead health and safety operations across our skilled-trades field workforce, including electrical and power line construction crews and directional drilling operations. Reporting to safety and operations leadership, the Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs that protect employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a proactive, zero-incident safety culture in high-hazard field environments. This is a field-focused role requiring frequent travel to active job sites to conduct inspections, deliver training, investigate incidents, and partner directly with crew leaders, linemen, drillers, and project supervisors to drive safe work practices. Key Responsibilities Program Management & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain company safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with OSHA (including 29 CFR 1926 Construction standards), DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Create and maintain site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) for electrical/power line construction and horizontal/directional drilling projects. Maintain OSHA recordkeeping (300/300A logs), incident records, and required regulatory documentation and reporting. Manage compliance programs including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, electrical safety (NFPA 70E), excavation/trenching, and underground utility locating. Field Operations & Inspections Conduct regular job site inspections and safety audits across multiple active project locations to identify hazards and verify compliance. Lead daily/weekly toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and job hazard analyses (JHAs) with crews and supervisors. Take swift corrective action to eliminate hazards and implement preventative measures to avoid recurrence. Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the condition of tools, equipment, and machinery. Training & Culture Develop and deliver safety orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training for field employees on relevant trades hazards. Coach and mentor crew leaders and supervisors to build accountability and a strong, proactive safety culture. Promote employee engagement in safety through near-miss reporting, stop-work authority, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Coordinate workers’ compensation reporting, return-to-work programs, and post-incident follow-up. Manage drug and alcohol testing programs, including post-accident and DOT-related testing protocols. Serve as primary point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and incident response. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years of safety management experience in construction, utilities, energy, or skilled-trades field operations. Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction standards and applicable DOT regulations. Experience supporting high-hazard field work such as electrical/power line construction, utility, or drilling operations. Strong knowledge of incident investigation, root cause analysis, and workers’ compensation administration. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management/reporting systems. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; ability to travel extensively to remote job sites. Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. Preferred Qualifications & Certifications Professional certification such as CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or ASP. NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, and authorized OSHA outreach trainer credentials. Familiarity with high-voltage electrical safety, line construction, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) hazards. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Physical Demands & Work Environment Work is performed primarily in outdoor field/job-site environments with exposure to varied weather, terrain, noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Must be able to walk active construction and drilling sites, climb, stoop, and stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and wear required PPE for extended periods.
