Environmental Health Safety Specialist

EHS Specialist – Tampa, FL (Onsite)

Contract: 6 Months with potential for extension or conversion

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week | Day Shift (occasional off-hours support as needed)

Position Overview

Seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety professional to support site safety, compliance, and environmental programs within a manufacturing/industrial operation. This role partners closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive workplace safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support site-wide health, safety, and environmental programs
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, incident reviews, and corrective action follow-up
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and environmental regulations
• Maintain safety documentation, training records, and compliance reporting
• Assist with employee safety training and awareness initiatives
• Support operational improvement projects and environmental sustainability efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate workplace risks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial setting
• Working knowledge of workplace safety regulations, environmental compliance, and incident investigation processes
• Experience supporting hazard control programs, equipment safety, and high-risk work activities
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Mandatory Credentials

One or more of the following:

• CSP
• ASP
• CIH
• CEP

Additional Information

• Position requires regular presence on the production floor
• Must be comfortable wearing standard industrial PPE
• Occasional schedule flexibility may be required based on operational needs
